Frequently Asked Questions
Can Structural ReconditioningTM help me?
- Most people, regardless of condition, see and feel results after their very first session. Medical-focus therapeutic bodywork improves everything from a pinched nerve, headache or shooting pains to the chances of avoiding surgery. Conditions that typically improve dramatically after just a few sessions are: carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic headaches, low back and leg pain (sciatica), frozen shoulder, joint issues and fibromyalgia.
What can I expect on my first visit?
- First, Torrance will conduct a brief physical exam known as a ‘structural analysis’, and intake paperwork must be completed with you and the therapist. Photos may be taken to record your baseline condition. Please be prepared to disclose major and minor surgeries or injuries and their approximate dates.
- On your first visit, you’ll experience a customized 50 min. Structural ReconditioningTM session with Torrance. Then, you’ll be guided through a series of therapeutic exercises and stretches to do at home for lasting benefit. A treatment program will be discussed, and you'll have the opportunity to ask questions and schedule your next appointment.
What should I wear for a Structural ReconditioningTM session?
- Specialized deep-tissue bodywork requires flexible and comfortable clothing that allows full range of motion, and allows Torrance to view the body's postural misalignments that are causing pain in specific areas.
- Generally, bodywork is performed on bare skin, dry or with oil. You may undress to your comfort level.
- Where pain in the upper body is involved (neck pain, carpal tunnel, frozen shoulder, etc.), clothing such as a bathing suit, sports bra or tube top is preferred for women to facilitate treatment of specific muscles in the neck and chest. Rest assured professionalism is maintained at all times.
How long is the treatment program?
- Depending on severity of the condition and the client’s willingness to actively participate in the program by doing daily stretches at home, 3 to 10 sessions are recommended within the first month or two. After that, regular maintenance sessions are recommended monthly or bi-monthly, or as needed.
Are treatments affordable?
- Rates start at just $85 per session for therapeutic and structural therapy in the Scottsdale clinic. Save by purchasing multi-session treatment packages. Remember to refer family and friends in need and get a FREE treatment session with 4 referrals (or 15min. FREE per referral)! Please see The Clinic page for more Special Offers.
I’m facing surgery soon. Can this help me?
- Yes, Structural ReconditioningTM can help to prevent some surgeries by offering an extremely effective, yet non-invasive treatment alternative, with lasting results you can feel.
- This style of medically focused deep-tissue bodywork is also very helpful for rehabilitation after surgery by helping to reduce scarring in the tissues that can lead to further surgery. Treatment also increases range-of-motion and blood flow to the injured area, helping to speed healing.
